ROMY FARMS

Naturally Grown Vegetables with some fruits. Year round grown. All types of greens (4 varieties of kale, swiss chard, beet greens), red and white compost grown potatoes, late melons, curcubits (cukes, zucchini, esp. winter squash, etc), fresh cut flowers, onions, leeks, garlic, butter peas, southern peas, summer green beans, chili peppers (and possibly ancho/poplanos), serrano peppers and cayenne peppers, sugar snaps and snow peas, rutabagas, much more. Will have bronze muscadines this year, future blackberries.

Grow downtown Williston, at my farm on Tinker Creek (corner of Hwy 278 and Tinker Creek 781) and at my Aiken Joyner Pond “woods farm”. Sometimes what works at one place does not work for another and that includes locating crops within one location. Try to pay attention to permaculture concepts mostly with sun at different times of the year and locations of trees.

Use aged and properly cured compost from 4 separate horse farms, fish emulsion and occasional very aged chicken maneur for items like sweet corn where strategic nitrogen is necessary. Organic sprays are used as a last resort mainly for items like southern cowpeas certain and not all varieties. Big advocate of flowers and plant crops to encourage beneficial inspect populations, sacrifical crops to attract pest bugs and flowers to attract polinators.
